A clone firm copies a real broker’s name, licence number and branding to take deposits. The register shows the genuine firm, so the surest check is the contact details: if the website, email or phone number you were given is not the one on the register, treat it as a clone. Leverage and margin
Leverage lets you open a position bigger than your deposit, so losses grow as fast as gains. The caps below are the most Plus500 allows; you can always use less.
Licensed by strict regulators in the UK, EU, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan and the US
UK client money is held in segregated accounts under FCA client money rules
No deposit or withdrawal fees and no fees for opening or closing trades on the UK site; costs are in the spread

Overview
Plus500 is a London-listed CFD provider with its own trading platform. It runs a separate company for most of its markets. In the US it does not offer CFDs; Plus500US Financial Services LLC is a futures broker. Plus500 says it earns mainly from the bid/ask spread.
Regulation and safety
We confirmed thirteen licences on the regulators’ registers. Plus500UK Ltd is FCA-authorised (509909) and Plus500CY Ltd holds CySEC licence 250/14. Plus500EE AS is on Estonia’s list of licensed investment firms. Plus500AU Pty Ltd holds an Australian licence (AFSL 417727) and is also a licensed derivatives issuer in New Zealand and an authorised FSP in South Africa. Plus500SG holds a Singapore capital markets services licence and Plus500JP is a registered dealer in Japan. The US futures company is an NFA member, and its BASIC record lists regulatory actions. Plus500AE (DFSA), Plus500Gulf (UAE CMA) and Plus500BHS (SCB) are on their registers. Plus500SEY is listed by the FSA Seychelles, an offshore regulator.
The FCA register warns about clone sites such as plus500un.com and p500.online. Use only the addresses on the register. See our guides to broker regulation and broker scams, or use check a broker.
Costs
The UK site lists no fees for opening or closing trades and no deposit or withdrawal fees. The cost is in the spread, plus overnight funding and a currency conversion fee on instruments priced in another currency. We did not find typical spreads published as fixed figures, so compare live quotes. The trading costs guide shows how.
Platforms and tools
Plus500’s own web platform and mobile apps only. There is no MetaTrader, so automated strategies built for MT4 or MT5 will not run. See MT4 vs MT5 if that matters to you.
Deposits and withdrawals
Withdrawals go back to the method you funded with. Plus500 says it offers several payment methods worldwide. Check which ones apply in your country.
Who it may suit
The set-up fits traders who want a strictly regulated local company and a single, simple platform. It suits less well if you rely on MetaTrader or need a commission account.
How to open an account
The steps as we checked them. Never deposit until you have confirmed the licence.
Check which company you will join

Plus500: common questions
Is Plus500 regulated?
Yes. On 2026-10-20 we confirmed Plus500UK Ltd on the FCA register (509909), Plus500CY Ltd on CySEC's (250/14) and Plus500AU Pty Ltd on ASIC's (AFSL 417727), along with its companies in New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, Japan, Estonia, the US, Dubai, the UAE, the Bahamas and Seychelles.
Which Plus500 company will I join?
It depends on where you live. UK residents join Plus500UK Ltd and EU residents Plus500CY Ltd. Australian, New Zealand and South African clients join Plus500AU Pty Ltd. US clients trade futures, not CFDs, with Plus500US Financial Services LLC. Check the name in your client agreement.
What is the minimum deposit?
We could not confirm a current figure on the UK site, which we could only view in an archived copy. Check the minimum in the app or the client agreement.
Can I lose more than I deposit?
UK, EU and Australian retail clients have negative balance protection, so losses are capped at the money in the account. Most retail CFD accounts lose money.
