Loading this week’s calendar…
Quick answer: An economic calendar lists the week's scheduled data releases and central bank events. Each row shows the time, the currency it affects, its usual impact on prices, the forecast and the previous figure. Use it to know when spreads may widen and prices may jump, not to guess the direction.
How to read each row
- Impact is a rough guide to how much the release has moved its currency before. Red events (rate decisions, inflation, jobs) usually matter most.
- Forecast is the average expectation of economists. Prices already reflect it before the release.
- Previous is last period's figure, sometimes revised when the new one comes out.
What moves the market is usually the surprise: the gap between the actual number and the forecast. Our step-by-step guide explains it with examples: how to read an economic calendar.

Frequently asked questions
What is an economic calendar in forex?
A list of scheduled economic releases and central bank events, with the time, the currency affected, how much it usually moves the market, the forecast and the previous figure. Traders use it to know when prices may jump.
What do high, medium and low impact mean?
They are a rough guide to how much a release has moved its currency in the past. High-impact events, such as rate decisions, CPI and US non-farm payrolls, often cause fast moves and wider spreads. It is a guide, not a promise: a low-impact release can move a pair too.
Why does the calendar not show the actual result?
Our free data source lists the forecast and the previous figure but not the released number. Check the official statistics office or central bank after the release time. What moves prices is usually the surprise: the gap between the actual figure and the forecast.
What time zone are the times in?
Your own device’s time zone, shown above the list. If your clock changes for summer time, the times follow it.
