Privacy policy
What BrokerCut Forex Academy does and does not collect. In short: no analytics, no cookies of our own, and your learning progress stays in your own browser.
Last updated: 21 October 2026
The short version
- We do not use analytics or tracking tools. The only cookie we set keeps you signed in if you create a free account.
- An account is optional and free. Everything on the site works without one.
- Your Academy progress, quiz scores, journals and checklists are saved in your own browser. They reach us only if you sign in to a free account, which keeps a copy so they follow you to other devices.
- If you follow a sponsored link to a broker, the link tells the broker which part of our site you came from, but not who you are.
What we collect
Almost nothing. The site has no analytics, no advertising trackers and no social media widgets. Unless you create a free account, it sets no cookies of its own and we do not know who you are. We never build an advertising profile of you.
Like any website, the servers that deliver our pages receive the technical information your browser sends with every request, such as your IP address and the page you asked for. Our hosting provider may keep this in short-term server logs for security and to keep the site running. We do not use these logs to identify or track visitors.
Fonts from Google
Our typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. To deliver them, your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address and basic browser information, under Google's privacy policy. We do not receive any of that information.
What is saved in your browser
Some Academy pages and tools remember your work so it is still there when you come back. They do this with your browser's local storage, a small store on your own device. Nothing in it is sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see it. It stays until you clear it, and it does not follow you to another browser or device.
| Saved as | What it holds |
|---|---|
progress:<course> | Which Academy lessons you have marked as complete, for each course. |
progress:<course>:quiz | Your quiz scores for each course. |
checklist:<name> | Which items you have ticked on a lesson checklist. |
trade-journal | Entries you add to the trade journal, which the monthly journal review also reads. |
trading-plan | What you type into the trading plan builder. |
strategy-card | What you type into the strategy card. |
backtest-log | Trades you record in the backtest log. |
thirty-trade-challenge | Your progress in the 30-trade challenge tracker. |
ninety-day-plan | Your progress in the 90-day milestone tracker. |
readiness-check | Your answers to the demo-to-live readiness check. |
check-a-broker | Your answers in the check-a-broker checklist and the broker name you typed. |
bc-theme | The colour theme you picked on your account page (when members may choose one). |
bc-themes-on | Whether members may choose a theme at the moment, so the right colours show before the page has loaded. |
bc-src | Where you first came to the site from (the referring site, any campaign tag in the link, and the first page), sent once when you create an account so we know which channels bring members. Nothing is sent if you never sign up. |
Anything you type into a journal or plan is stored as plain text on your device. If you share the device, other people using the same browser could see it.
How to clear your saved data
- One tool at a time: the journal, plan, strategy card, backtest log, checklists and trackers each have a Clear or Reset button that empties just that tool.
- Everything at once: clear the site data for this website in your browser settings. In most browsers it is under privacy or site settings, as "cookies and site data" or "website data". This removes all your progress, quiz scores, journals and plans, and it cannot be undone.
- Leave no trace: use a private or incognito window. Anything saved is deleted when you close it.
Links to brokers
Sponsored links to brokers carry three tags in the web address, so the broker can tell which placement on our site a visit came from:
utm_source=brokercut: the visit came from this site;utm_medium=affiliate: it came through an affiliate link;utm_content: which placement you clicked, such as a broker card or the partner box.
These tags contain nothing about you. Once you arrive on a broker's website, its own privacy and cookie policies apply, and it may set cookies to record that you came from us. Read its policy before you share any personal details. The advertising disclosure explains how affiliate links work.
If you create a free account
A free account is optional. If you create one, we store your email address, the name you add (used only on your course certificates), your language, the emails you agreed to receive and the date you agreed, a copy of your learning progress, the courses you enrol in (and when), and the broker profiles you follow. If you choose to add them, we also store your country and how far along you are with trading, which we use only to suggest lessons, and a profile photo if you upload one (cropped to a small square and shown only to you while you are signed in). When you finish a course we store its certificate: your name, the course, the date, the certificate number and a picture of it. Certificates are private unless you switch one to public; then anyone with its link can see that page (it is kept out of search engines), and you can switch it back at any time. If our team creates an account for you, we email you an invitation link that works once for 7 days; your email choices stay unticked until you choose them, and you can delete the account like any other. Sign-in works with a one-time code we email to you; we keep only a scrambled (hashed) form of each code, and it expires after 10 minutes. You can also choose a password: we never store the password itself, only a salted hash that cannot be turned back into it.
When you sign in we set one cookie, bc_session, which keeps you signed in for up to 90 days. It holds a random number and nothing else. For each device you sign in on, we note the browser and system (for example "Chrome · Android"), the country Cloudflare reports for the connection, and when it was last active, so you can see and sign out your devices on your account page. If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address and name; we do not receive your Google password or contacts.
Accounts are stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare. Emails (sign-in codes, and only the newsletters and alerts you ticked) are sent through our email provider, Resend. We never sell or share your details. You can change which emails you get, or delete your account and everything stored in it, at any time on your account page, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
If you email us
If you contact us at info@brokercut.com, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and, for error reports, to fix the page. We do not add you to a mailing list or share your email. We delete correspondence we no longer need. Please do not send passwords, account numbers or identity documents.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, which in practice means your account (if you have one) and any emails you have sent us, and ask us to correct or delete it. On your account page you can download everything stored in your account as a file, correct it, or delete the account yourself; or email us at the address above.
Changes to this policy
If we add analytics, cookies, a newsletter or anything else that collects information, we will update this policy before it goes live and change the date at the top of this page.
