Regulation and entities
Your protection depends on which company holds your account, and that depends on where you live. Each row is one licensed company. What regulation means

Watch out for look-alike sites
We have not recorded any look-alike sites for ThinkMarkets. That does not mean none exist.
A clone firm copies a real broker’s name, licence number and branding to take deposits. The register shows the genuine firm, so the surest check is the contact details: if the website, email or phone number you were given is not the one on the register, treat it as a clone. Leverage and margin
Leverage lets you open a position bigger than your deposit, so losses grow as fast as gains. The caps below are the most ThinkMarkets allows; you can always use less.
50% (forced liquidation level)When your equity falls to 50% (forced liquidation level) of your used margin, the platform starts closing your trades, usually the biggest loser first, until the level recovers.
Margin level = equity ÷ used margin × 100. Without negative balance protection, a fast market can gap past the stop-out and leave you owing money. Work out your margin level
Licensed by the FCA, CySEC and ASIC, with client money in segregated accounts
Publishes target (typical) spreads for the Standard account, such as 1.1 pips on EUR/USD
No deposit or withdrawal fees on the international site's funding methods
Watch out for
International clients join TF Global Markets Int Limited in the Seychelles (offshore tier), where leverage goes up to 2500:1 on ThinkTrader and losses can exceed deposits
ThinkMarkets also says it is licensed by CIMA, an FSC, an FMA and (on its South African company) FSCA FSP 49835, without naming every company; we could not confirm these on 2026-10-20. Its FSCA OTC derivative provider approval is confirmed.
The ThinkZero minimum deposit is shown as $100 on the account types page and $500 on the ThinkZero page; ask before you fund.
Overview
ThinkMarkets was established in 2010 and trades through companies named TF Global Markets. It offers three main accounts: Standard and ThinkTrader, with the cost in the spread, and ThinkZero, with raw spreads plus a commission. Its own ThinkTrader platform sits alongside MetaTrader 4 and 5 and TradingView.
Regulation and safety
We checked these on the regulators’ registers on 20 October 2026: TF Global Markets (UK) Limited (FCA 629628), TF Global Markets (Europe) Ltd (CySEC 215/13), TF Global Markets (Aust) Pty Ltd (ASIC AFSL 424700) and the UK company’s Dubai branch (DFSA F004173, with a retail endorsement). TF Global Markets South Africa (Pty) Ltd is listed as an approved OTC derivative provider on the FSCA’s register; we could not reach the FSCA’s FSP register to confirm its FSP number. TF Global Markets Int Limited is on the FSA Seychelles list of securities dealers; the list gives no numbers, so SD060 is ThinkMarkets’ own figure.
International clients join the Seychelles company, which is offshore tier with no compensation scheme. ThinkMarkets also has a Saint Lucia company (registration 2023-00272), which is a company registration, not a licence. It names CIMA, an FSC and an FMA among its regulators without saying which company holds each, so we could not confirm them. See forex broker regulation.
Costs
ThinkMarkets publishes target spreads, described as typical in active hours. On the Standard account EUR/USD is 1.1 pips (about $11 per lot), GBP/USD 1.3 and USD/JPY 1.4. ThinkZero quotes raw spreads from 0.0 pips plus $3.50 per side on forex, gold and silver, so $7 per lot round turn; it does not publish typical ThinkZero spreads. The trading costs guide explains how to compare the two.
Platforms and tools
ThinkTrader is ThinkMarkets’ own web, desktop and mobile platform, with up to 4,000 instruments. MetaTrader 4 (350 instruments) and MetaTrader 5 (1,800) are offered for Standard and ThinkZero, plus TradingView. Expert Advisors are allowed. See MT4 vs MT5.
Deposits and withdrawals
The international site lists bank wire, Visa and Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Neteller and crypto, all with no fee from ThinkMarkets. It says withdrawals are processed 24/5, usually within four hours.
Who it may suit
The Standard account fits traders who want published typical spreads and MetaTrader, and ThinkTrader suits those who prefer a broker’s own platform with a $10 start. If you live outside the UK, EU, Australia or South Africa, you join the Seychelles company. Check it with our broker check and practise on a demo account.
How to open an account
