Watch out for look-alike sites
We have not recorded any look-alike sites for Orbex. That does not mean none exist.
A clone firm copies a real broker’s name, licence number and branding to take deposits. The register shows the genuine firm, so the surest check is the contact details: if the website, email or phone number you were given is not the one on the register, treat it as a clone. Cost per lot = typical EUR/USD spread × $10 + round-turn commission, for one standard lot (100,000 units) in busy hours. Swap and other fees are extra. Trading costs explained
Leverage and margin
Leverage lets you open a position bigger than your deposit, so losses grow as fast as gains. The caps below are the most Orbex allows; you can always use less.
100%When your equity falls to 100% of the margin your open trades use, you get a warning and usually cannot open new trades.
Stop-out
20%When your equity falls to 20% of your used margin, the platform starts closing your trades, usually the biggest loser first, until the level recovers.
Orbex Global Ltd is on the FSC Mauritius register as an investment dealer (SEC-2.1B), licensed since 7 January 2019
Says client money is held separately from company money and offers negative balance protection on all accounts
Commission-free Starter account from $100, and raw-spread accounts with a published per-lot commission
MetaTrader 4 and 5, a FIX API and PAMM accounts
Watch out for
Its CySEC licence (124/10, ORBEX Ltd) is shown on the CySEC register as under examination for voluntary renunciation, so new clients are not covered by EU rules or the Cyprus compensation fund, even though the website still mentions the ICF
The website names several operating companies (Orbex Global Ltd in Mauritius, Orbex Limited in Seychelles, an Orbex Limited registered in Saint Lucia and Orbex LLC in St Vincent); check which one is named in your agreement
Leverage up to 1:500, far above the 1:30 cap that applies in the UK and EU
The spreads it publishes are minimums ("as low as"); typical spreads are not published
Overview
Orbex is a forex and CFD broker that has traded since 2011. It offers more than 400 instruments on MetaTrader 4 and 5, three live account types, PAMM accounts and copy trading. It started in Cyprus, but today its clients are served from Mauritius and Seychelles.
Regulation and safety
Orbex Global Ltd appears on the FSC Mauritius register with an SEC-2.1B investment dealer licence dated 7 January 2019. The register does not show licence numbers. The licence certificate Orbex publishes carries number C118023330 and the same date. The FSA Seychelles lists Orbex Limited as a securities dealer, without a licence number. Orbex’s trading terms say your agreement is with Orbex Global Limited.
The CySEC register still shows ORBEX Ltd (licence 124/10), marked as under examination for voluntary renunciation. Orbex’s safety page still mentions the Cyprus Investor Compensation Fund. That fund covers clients of the Cyprus firm, not clients of the Mauritius or Seychelles companies.
The footer also names an Orbex Limited registered in Saint Lucia (2025-00714 IBC) and Orbex LLC in St Vincent (230 LLC 2019). Those are company registrations, not licences to offer trading. Our guide to broker regulation explains why the company you contract with matters.
Costs
The Starter account has no commission and spreads from 1.5 pips on EUR/USD. Premium and Ultimate quote from 0.0 pips plus a commission of $8 and $5 per lot. These are minimum spreads; Orbex does not publish typical ones. Compare them using the trading costs guide.
Platforms and tools
You can use MetaTrader 4 or 5 on desktop, web and mobile, the Orbex app or a FIX API. Free VPS hosting and Trading Central are included. See MT4 vs MT5.
Deposits and withdrawals
Money goes into an Orbex Wallet first. The funding page lists cards, Skrill, Neteller, Perfect Money, UnionPay and several local methods, most with no Orbex fee. Card withdrawals take three to five business days.
Who it may suit
The Starter account fits someone who wants a $100 entry point and no commission. The raw-spread accounts are built for higher-volume traders. If you want the protection of a strict regulator, this set-up will not give it to you. Check the company named in your agreement, and look up any licence yourself on our check a broker page.

What is the minimum deposit?
$100 for the Starter account, $500 for Premium and $25,000 for Ultimate.
