Websites

Official websites

  • cptmarkets.com
  • cptfx.com

Type the address yourself or use a bookmark. Check it matches the website listed for the firm on the regulator’s register.

Watch out for look-alike sites

We have not recorded any look-alike sites for CPT Markets. That does not mean none exist.

A clone firm copies a real broker’s name, licence number and branding to take deposits. The register shows the genuine firm, so the surest check is the contact details: if the website, email or phone number you were given is not the one on the register, treat it as a clone. Strengths

Overview

CPT Markets is a forex and CFD brand that says it has served traders for more than 18 years. It offers forex, indices, metals, energies, commodities, stocks and crypto on MetaTrader 4 and 5 and its own app. It has three account types: Classic, ECN and a gold-focused Prime account.

Regulation and safety

Three CPT companies hold licences, each in a different place:

  • CPT Markets (PTY) Ltd is listed as authorised on the FSCA register under FSP 45954. This company serves South Africa.
  • CPT Markets Limited is listed as active on the Belize FSC register under 6616058, for trading in securities as agent and principal, managing securities and arranging transactions. Belize is an offshore regulator.
  • CPT Mena Financial Services LLC is on the UAE CMA register with two activities: introduction and promotion. It is not licensed to deal.

Two Cyprus companies handle operations and do not hold trading licences. The footer says CPTFX.com operates under the CPT Markets brand, and the Belize register gives belize.cptinternational.com as the licensee’s website, so the brand uses several domains. Our broker regulation guide explains how to check which company you join.

Costs

CPT publishes few cost figures. Classic has floating spreads and no commission. ECN quotes from 0.0 pips with a volume-based commission whose rate is not shown. Prime offers gold from 0.0 pips with no commission. Ask for the full cost per lot first; see forex trading costs.

Platforms and tools

You can trade on MT4, MT5, the CPT app or its desktop platform, with copy trading and MAM accounts. See MT4 vs MT5.

Deposits and withdrawals

The website mentions fast deposits and crypto cards but does not publish a list of payment methods, limits or fees. Ask for these in writing before you deposit, including how long withdrawals take.

Who it may suit

South African residents can use the FSCA-authorised company. Others will probably sign with the Belize company, with leverage up to 1:1000 and no stated negative balance protection. Check the details on our check a broker page.

How to open an account

The steps as we checked them. Never deposit until you have confirmed the licence.

  1. Check which company you will join

CPT publishes separate terms for South Africa (CPT Markets (PTY) Ltd, FSCA) and Belize (CPT Markets Limited, Belize FSC). Ask which applies to you before you deposit.

  2. Register and verify

Sign up online and complete the identity checks (KYC).

  3. Choose an account

Classic (STP, no commission), ECN (volume-based commission) or Prime (gold-focused, from USD 500, one per client).

  4. Fund and trade

Log in to MT4, MT5 or the CPT app. Try the demo account first.
