Watch out for look-alike sites
We have not recorded any look-alike sites for CPT Markets. That does not mean none exist.
A clone firm copies a real broker’s name, licence number and branding to take deposits. The register shows the genuine firm, so the surest check is the contact details: if the website, email or phone number you were given is not the one on the register, treat it as a clone. Leverage and margin
Leverage lets you open a position bigger than your deposit, so losses grow as fast as gains. The caps below are the most CPT Markets allows; you can always use less.
Margin level = equity ÷ used margin × 100. Without negative balance protection, a fast market can gap past the stop-out and leave you owing money. Work out your margin level
CPT Markets (PTY) Ltd is authorised by the FSCA (FSP 45954), confirmed on the FSCA register
CPT Markets Limited is listed as active on the Belize FSC register, for trading and arranging transactions in securities
Says client funds are fully segregated
MetaTrader 4 and 5 plus its own app, copy trading and MAM accounts
Watch out for
Clients outside South Africa are likely to sign with the Belize company, which holds an offshore licence
The UAE company is licensed only for introduction and promotion, not for dealing
Its risk warning says you can lose more than your deposit; we found no negative balance protection policy
No minimum deposit, typical spread or commission rate is published for the Classic or ECN accounts; the Prime account starts at USD 500
Overview
CPT Markets is a forex and CFD brand that says it has served traders for more than 18 years. It offers forex, indices, metals, energies, commodities, stocks and crypto on MetaTrader 4 and 5 and its own app. It has three account types: Classic, ECN and a gold-focused Prime account.
Regulation and safety
Three CPT companies hold licences, each in a different place:
CPT Markets (PTY) Ltd is listed as authorised on the FSCA register under FSP 45954. This company serves South Africa.
CPT Markets Limited is listed as active on the Belize FSC register under 6616058, for trading in securities as agent and principal, managing securities and arranging transactions. Belize is an offshore regulator.
CPT Mena Financial Services LLC is on the UAE CMA register with two activities: introduction and promotion. It is not licensed to deal.
Two Cyprus companies handle operations and do not hold trading licences. The footer says CPTFX.com operates under the CPT Markets brand, and the Belize register gives belize.cptinternational.com as the licensee’s website, so the brand uses several domains. Our broker regulation guide explains how to check which company you join.
Costs
CPT publishes few cost figures. Classic has floating spreads and no commission. ECN quotes from 0.0 pips with a volume-based commission whose rate is not shown. Prime offers gold from 0.0 pips with no commission. Ask for the full cost per lot first; see forex trading costs.

You can trade on MT4, MT5, the CPT app or its desktop platform, with copy trading and MAM accounts. See MT4 vs MT5.
Deposits and withdrawals
The website mentions fast deposits and crypto cards but does not publish a list of payment methods, limits or fees. Ask for these in writing before you deposit, including how long withdrawals take.
